Sundt Promotes Five and Hires Ruhnke in Tempe

TEMPE, Ariz. (November 16, 2020) – Sundt Construction, Inc. promoted Aaron Bond, Lance Bemis, Brody Slaugenhoup, Emily Tucker, and Amulya Raju and hired Max Ruhnke in its Tempe office.

“Aaron, Lance, Brody, Emily and Amulya are all strong employee-owners,” said Stew Grauer, Vice President and Phoenix Regional Director. “Each of them worked very hard to earn their promotions. We are thrilled to be able to hire Max after he was a valuable intern for our team.”

Bond, promoted to project manager, has worked at Sundt for 15 years as a project superintendent and prior as an engineer. His experience ranges from education projects to government buildings totaling over $500 million.  Bond is a LEED accredited professional and a certified professional constructor. He earned his bachelor’s degree in construction management from Northern Arizona University.

Bemis served as a field superintendent for multiple projects before moving into his new role as a project superintendent. He has worked on school, hospitality, office, government, commercial, hospital projects, and medical laboratories valued up to $100 million.

Promoted to project engineer after serving previously as a field engineer, Slaugenhoup has worked on many notable projects in the Valley, including the new Canopy by Hilton in downtown Tempe. Slaugenhoup earned his bachelor’s degree in construction at the University of Wisconsin – Stout.

After serving as an intern on Sundt’s Union Tempe project, Tucker joined the company full time as a field engineer in 2018. Promoted to project engineer, she will continue to work on the Gila River Hotel & Casino – Wildhorse Pass project near Chandler, Ariz. Tucker earned her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and exercise science from Arizona State University. She also earned her master’s degree in construction management from Arizona State University.

Raju, promoted to project engineer II, has been at Sundt for two years. Before joining Sundt, she served as an assistant project manager, where she worked on various projects ranging from $5 million to $20 million. She earned her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from BMSCE -VTU, Bangalore, Karnataka, India, and her master’s degree in construction management from Arizona State University.

For the past year, Ruhnke has served as an intern on one of Sundt’s data center projects in the Valley. He joins the same project team full-time as a field engineer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Arizona State University.
