IRVINE, Calif. (May 27, 2020) – The Sundt Foundation awarded $7,000 to local organizations to support their work in the Greater Los Angeles region during the COVID-19 pandemic. Both the COVID-19 LA County Response Fund and the Stuart House at the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica received $3,500 to help the most vulnerable navigate the pandemic.

“The COVID-19 pandemic caused distress for many in Los Angeles and Orange Counties,” said Jim Householder, the Sundt Foundation’s Irvine region board member. “Our Foundation board made a swift decision to donate $200,000 in relief aid to over 20 nonprofits across our nine geographic markets, including two here in LA County.”

The California Community Foundation launched the COVID-19 LA County Response Fund to address the immediate and emerging needs of the region’s most vulnerable residents.

“Our Foundation is humbled by the opportunity to support the organizations that are working hard to keep our communities healthy and safe. Both the COVID-19 LA County Response Fund and Stuart House dedicate their time and efforts to making sure those who are experiencing extreme hardship during this time receive the care and support they need,” Householder added.

Additionally, the Sundt Foundation awarded a total of $6,500 during its second-quarter grant cycle to Friendly Center and WISEPlace. The Sundt Foundation awards grants each quarter to nonprofit organizations that support disadvantaged children and families. Grant recipients are selected through an application process, then reviewed by Sundt employee-owners within their local giving area.
