IRVINE, Calif. (February 19, 2020) – The Sundt Foundation awarded $11,500 in grants to three greater Los Angeles nonprofits during its first-quarter disbursements.sundt foundation presents check to families forward in their warehouse

“Funding causes such as Families Forward helps strengthen our community,” said Jim Householder, the Sundt Foundation’s Irvine region board member. “Families Forward’s mission to aid in the health and long-term success of children definitely aligns with the Sundt Foundation’s values. It’s really fulfilling to assist this organization and others like it, and we hope to build on this quarter’s momentum to make a bigger impact.”

The Sundt Foundation awards grants each quarter to area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt employee-owners.

First-quarter grants include:

Families Forward, which received $5,000, provides housing and services to homeless parents and their children. By alleviating the need to travel to multiple organizations for assistance, the organization aids the overall health, stability and long-term success of the children served.

The Family Assistance Program, which operates a youth shelter called Our House, received $4,000. The emergency shelter offers support services to homeless and runaway children. While in the program, each young person receives food and shelter, transportation, basic health care, systems-based advocacy, individual counseling and parent counseling, case management, and legal assistance.

Operation Gratitude received $2,500 to support sending care packages to veterans, first responders and service members stationed overseas.
