SALT LAKE CITY (August 27, 2019) – The Sundt Foundation recently expanded its focus to include Salt Lake City as one of its nine giving areas. The Foundation awards grants each quarter to nonprofit organizations that assist disadvantaged children and families. SF20Year_logo

“Supporting our communities through the Sundt Foundation is at the core of our company’s purpose,” said Stefanie Teller, President of the Sundt Foundation. “Our employee-owners in Salt Lake City believe in giving back to the community where we live and work, and now that we’ve established an office in the area it only makes sense to bring the Foundation to the Salt Lake area.”

Recipients of grants are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt employee-owners. Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000. Salt Lake City nonprofits are encouraged to visit www.sundt.com  and apply by September 15 for a fourth-quarter grant.

Earlier this year the Sundt Foundation awarded two grants to local nonprofits including $2,500 to Utah Youth Village to support the organization’s mission to offer therapeutic foster homes and group homes for young victims of abuse and neglect, as well as $3,000 to Mercy Housing Mountain Plains to support their operation of the Francis Peak View Apartments.

As for project work in the region, Sundt has continued its progress on improvements to Interstate 215 just north of Salt Lake City. The scope includes construction of a diverging diamond interchange (DDI) which, once completed, will accommodate 19 different traffic movements and will significantly reduce traffic congestion in the area. In addition to the DDI, the team added approximately two miles of new concrete pavement on I-215.
