Highway Construction Project Kicks Off Next Month

 |  Press Release

SALT LAKE CITY (Jan. 10, 2018) – Sundt Construction has been awarded a $25 million contract by the Utah Department of Transportation to complete a highway reconstruction project.

The project includes construction of a new bridge over I-215 to create an interchange at Redwood Road and approximately 2 miles of new concrete pavement on I-215. In addition to the interchange, Sundt will reconstruct 1 mile of Redwood Road to Center Street and an additional 5 miles of Redwood will be rehabilitated with new asphalt pavement.

“We are looking forward to kicking off this project for UDOT and easing traffic congestion for the area,” Sundt Area Manager Larry Luke said. “The new bridge and interchange will improve traffic flow for Redwood Road and the ramps to I-215 and will meet future traffic demands.”

The project will generate a variety of opportunities for the area’s skilled tradespeople, including heavy equipment operators, concrete finishers, carpenters and more. Openings are listed at www.sundt.com/careers/skilled-craft.The project should complete by the end of the year.

Sundt has had a presence in Utah for more than 20 years, including projects at Salt Lake City International Airport and Michael Army Airfield at Dugway Proving Ground in Tooele County.
