NEW RIVER, N.C. (May 2, 2014) – Sundt Construction, Inc. and its joint venture partner, United Builders Group, were selected as the prime contractor to build the replacement of the 50-year-old Delalio Elementary School at Marine Corps Air Station New River in North Carolina.
The $23.3 million phased project will include construction of a modern, two-story, 66,400-square-foot facility with flexible and adaptable spaces, including general purpose classrooms, information center, technologically-driven computer lab, special education classroom, counseling areas, administrative offices and other features required for a fully functioning elementary school. Construction for the new school, which began in April, is scheduled for completion in May 2017.
Sundt is a leader in education construction and has completed many notable projects, including the Banta River Island Elementary and Middle School in Lathrop, California; Mary Belle McCorkle Academy of Excellence K-8 School in Tucson, Arizona; and the James P. Butler Elementary School in El Paso, Texas.
