Sundt Foundation Awards $7,000 To Local Nonprofits

SACRAMENTO (Dec. 11, 2013) – Sundt Construction, Inc.‘s Sacramento employees have selected five local nonprofit organizations to receive Sundt Foundation grants totaling $7,000 this quarter. The Sundt Foundation was established by Sundt in 1999 to give its employee-owners a means of giving back to their communities. It provides financial support to nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children and adults. Most grants are made to organizations in the communities where Sundt has offices and construction projects. The Foundation is funded primarily by contributions from Sundt employees and company matching. To date, the organization has awarded more than $5 million in donations to organizations throughout California, Arizona, Texas and beyond. Here’s a closer look at the Sacramento organizations that recently received funding.

will use the grant money to unite young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service, giving them the skills and opportunities to change the world.

Shriners Hospitals for Children — Northern California will use the funds to treat children with burns, as well as a host of orthopaedic and neuromusculoskeletal conditions, and spinal cord injuries.

Center for Fathers and Families
will use the funds to continue responding to the needs of fathers and their families by providing programs and services that lead to family growth, enrichment and empowerment.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento Area, Inc. will use the grant money to continue helping children reach their potential through one-on-one relationships with mentors that have a measurable impact on youth.

Safety Center Incorporated (Safetyville USA) will use the funds to provide children and developmentally disabled adults the opportunity to learn life-saving skills through its Safetyville USA program.
