The Safety Department exists to provide a safe and healthy workplace for everyone - our employees, customers, subcontractors and suppliers.

We strive to provide our employees with the most up-to-date information and training available. In recognition of this effort, Sundt was recently presented the Grand Award, given annually by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and the Willis Group. The award honors the "Best of the Best" in construction safety excellence and was presented for Sundt's safety processes, management involvement and company safety culture.

Sundt has won numerous other safety awards, such as: STEP Platinum Award, given by the Associated Builders and Contractors; AGC Award of Excellence, First and Second place (in concurrent years) for Heavy Engineering; numerous Certificates of Commendation from the Associated Builders and Contractors, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Omaha District Safe Contractor of the Year.

The Safety Department has highly educated Safety Professionals, including three Certified Safety Professionals and one Professional Engineer. These employees, who also have earned several national safety training certifications, act as resources to on-site personnel.

It is our policy to:

• Pre-plan all of our work from a safety and health standpoint.
• Comply with all federal and state regulations.
• Follow all client rules governing safety.
• Take expedient action to correct any unsafe conditions on a jobsite.
• Promote safety awareness.
• Hold each employee accountable for his or her individual responsibility to perform a job safely.
• Provide the training to support accident reduction techniques.
