The construction of university and community college projects is one of Sundt's areas of expertise. These buildings are unique because they often house different rooms and spaces for various educational and administrative functions under one roof, including meeting rooms, offices for faculty and administrators, classrooms, auditoriums, and laboratories. Sundt has also built dozens of recreation, wellness, and residential construction projects for colleges and universities throughout the Southwest.

Universities

Sundt has been working in the university construction market for decades, having completed approximately 200 projects for dozens of higher education clients. These projects included student housing facilities, learning resource centers, wet and dry laboratories, major research facilities, student unions, student recreation centers, student service centers, classrooms, lecture halls, convention facilities and performing arts theaters.

We have built these projects using a variety of delivery methods including Construction Manager at Risk, Design-Build, Lease-Leaseback, and CM Multiple Prime.

As with university projects, most of the challenges with community college projects arise from the need to perform construction on occupied campuses while minimizing disruptions to students, faculty and staff.
