• Sundt crews performed the structural concrete work and installed process mechanicals, equipment and miscellaneous metals. Performing this work itself helped Sundt control the quality and safety of work being done and maintain the schedule and costs.
Sundt was the Construction Manager at Risk on this upgrade project for the City of Tempe, Arizona’s South Tempe Water Treatment Plant. The 50-million-gallon-per-day plant provides potable water to the city’s residential, commercial and industrial users. The major components of Sundt’s work included changing the plant’s programming and control system, replacing and installing 60-, 54- and 48-inch process valves, and installing new, 54-inch plant inlet flow meters. The company also built a new satellite building, installed new finished water pumps, and made coagulation enhancements.
