Ground floor retail to include Trader Joe's grocery store and multiple restaurants. The project is adjacent to Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union (also built by Sundt) as well as on-campus light rail station.
Students at San Diego State University have more exceptional housing, retail and restaurant offerings from which to choose. The university construction project includes two residential buildings above all ground-floor retail, and an adjacent parking structure. The residence halls will house 608 beds in double-occupancy student rooms, 32 single-occupancy student rooms, three staff apartments and three visiting scholar studios.
Sustainability was also emphasized at South Campus Plaza. The. nearly 350,000-square foot design includes Cal-Green Tier 2, innovative and sustainable design with the use of recycled and renewable building materials with energy-efficient windows and lighting controls that enhance daylighting and shut off when rooms are not occupied.
