Sundt has a long history of providing quality installations of new and upgraded equipment for mining and milling process plants. Sundt has been involved with new "grassroots" mine projects and large expansions to existing facilities. Primarily, the mine projects are involved with base metals or precious metals mining operations, but we also have served the industrial minerals markets. From initial civil work to complete E&IC and final commissioning, Sundt delivers projects in a safe and timely manner.
Quintana Minerals - Sundt was the primary general contractor for building the new Copper Flats open pit copper mine in New Mexico. The project included the installation of a new mill/flotation/concentrator facility, primary crushing, reclaim and conveying systems, tailings dam construction, and three miles of mine access road. Sundt installed and commissioned an 11'x28' ball mill and a 32'x14' SAG mill, along with new flotation cells and thickeners. A new assay lab and maintenance facility was also constructed.
Barrick Goldstrike CIL Expansion – a 17,500-ton-per-day expansion of the ADR gold leach processing plant. Sundt installed two additional 900,000 gallon CIL tanks, a new 212,000-pounds-per-hour boiler plant, an additional thickener, a new tailings and pump house facility, two structural pipe bridges, and 60,000 lineal feet of pipe. Project craft included: civil, concrete, structural, mechanical, and E&I.
Castle Mountain Gold – Sundt constructed the new comminution facility and the CIC gold processing and EW plant. Project construction included concrete foundations, structural steel erection and mechanical equipment installations, all process piping for the gold recovery facility, construction of the assay/maintenance buildings, and 5,350 feet of conveyor belt for leach pad placement.
Cripple Creek – Sundt constructed a gold ore handling and carbon adsorption facility at the Cresson Gold Mine, including the 85-foot-tall primary crusher and secondary crushing facilities, overland conveying systems, and associated leach pad.
Kennecott Copper – Constructed a new solvent extraction plant at the Ray Mine, including the site grading, concrete placement, structural steel and tank erection, equipment and mechanical installations, process piping, and site paving.
Inspiration Copper – Upgraded the smelter, concentrator, mill, acid plant, and rail/maintenance facilities. Constructed the new primary crushing system and new leach pads.
Cyprus Copper – Constructed the Johnson Camp copper oxide solvent extraction and electrowinning plant. Constructed the #2 and #3 precipitation plants.
