Sundt is experienced in material handling systems and has installed many miles of conveying systems for mine ore and waste handling.  From reclaim tunnels, apron feeders and reclaim stackers, to in-pit conveying and leach pad loading systems, Sundt has a broad resume of quality installations in mining applications.

Phelps In-Pit 1&2 Conveying Projects – Sundt replaced the existing rail transportation system with over three miles of new 60-inch conveyor delivering ore from the open pit to the concentrators. Installed five conveyor systems totaling over 14,000-lineal feet of 60-inch belt, including 1300-lineal feet of 60-inch conveyor to the new multi-plate reclaim tunnel and surge stacker area.

Phelps In-Pit 4 Conveying Project - Constructed an in-pit crushing and conveying system. Project included a multi-plate tunnel and a 50-foot-tall by 459-foot-wide reinforced earthen dump pocket for the crushing facility. Modifications to the existing conveying system were implemented and concrete, structural steel, mechanical, and electrical work were provided for a semi-mobile in-pit crusher.

Anamax Mining – One of three phases to the new Anamax Mine. Sundt constructed a new 48-inch steel cable belt conveyor to deliver ore over the newly constructed concrete reclaim tunnel.

Peabody Coal – Performed emission compliance modifications to the coal blending conveyor system at the Navajo Mine.

Castle Mountain Gold – constructed a 5,350-foot ore stacking conveyor system from the crushing facility to the leach pad.  Sundt excavated, graded, and installed the protective liners for the new leach pad.
