The 66,900-square-foot Media and Learning Center Sundt built for the Foothill-De Anza Community College District is a two-story facility that includes classrooms equipped for online collaborative instruction in real time, a dedicated television recording studio, and more.  It features an innovative air circulation system that can be found in only a handful of buildings in the country. The  center is designed to be a pedestrian-focused gateway to campus, as evidenced by the fact that the site doesn’t have any parking lots. Instead, all of the hardscapes are pathways dotted with benches – some made from salvaged redwood trees – to encourage students and faculty to mingle and interact.
