• Using the Last Planner System of LEAN Construction, Sundt was able to involve the entire team, including the owner, in a plan to construct the project in just 12 months.
  • The schedule goal was met even though auger cast piles had to be switched.
  • The project team participated in a number of community improvement efforts, including a new skateboard park for the City of St. Johns, the 4H animal auction, the Corporal Joe McCarthy Foundation, the St. Johns girls soccer team, the Show Low Youth Foundation, and other charitable organizations in the area.
A new environmental controls project was constructed to reduce emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxide (Nox) and mercury (Gg). The work consisted of the installation of the FGD substructures and the addition of a new environmental controls project for the facility. Sundt constructed all of the substructure concrete for the new absorber buildings, ID fans, chimneys and pipe rack foundations, including the duct banks, site work, auger cast piles, pond modifications and paving.
