This design-build project included a 178,000-square-foot administrative/training building with a separate 50,000-square-foot high-bay organizational maintenance facility, a 20,000-square-foot warehouse, and parking for all military and privately-owned vehicles.
The main building provides administrative spaces, training spaces, classrooms, a library, learning resource center, distant learning computer lab, fitness area, armories, weapons simulator, storage, medical/dental clinic, large kitchen, and multipurpose assembly hall for units of the California Army National Guard, the U.S. Army Reserves and the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.
The Organizational Maintenance Facility includes: eight repairs bays, open bench repair and work areas, tools and parts storage, arms vault, POL storage, parachute packing and rigging room, communications room, and administrative offices.
The building is permanent construction with reinforced concrete foundations and concrete floor slabs, mechanical, electrical, and information systems, interior finishes, window systems, roof decks with single-ply membrane roofing and exterior finishes. Sundt’s supporting facility work included site preparation, paving, fencing, and extension of utilities to serve the project.
