The Arizona Game and Fish Department headquarters includes an 82,000-square-foot, single-story office building, a 27,000-square-foot warehouse/laboratory, a vehicle maintenance building, and 14-person bunkhouse for visiting employees. In addition, Sundt constructed a radio dispatch room and transmission tower that operates around the clock to facilitate communication with rangers in the field.

A creative public/private partnership was used to help finance, develop, and manage the facility. An independent property developer helped secure private market financing for the project and will manage the property for 25 years. The new department headquarters is a model for sustainability, with “green” features including a high efficiency air-cooled chiller, a recycling program, and the use of locally produced sustainable materials.
