Sundt Foundation Grants $12,500 to Three Nonprofits

 |  Press Release

SAN DIEGO (Jan. 3, 2017) – A $5,000 grant to Feeding San Diego from the Sundt Foundation will provide food to low-income students and their families.

“We are so grateful to the Sundt Foundation for their commitment to helping the 150,000 San Diego children facing hunger every day,” said Vince Hall, CEO of Feeding San Diego. “Their support will help us serve more families with healthy, nutritious food through our School Pantry program.”

In addition to the grant, Sundt employees volunteered at Feeding San Diego to prepare food bags, recycle non-safe food and sort food for families in need and non-safe food for composting.

Feeding San Diego lends support to the nearly 400,000 San Diegans in food-insecure households through its hunger-relief and nutrition initiatives: Feeding Kids, Feeding Families, Feeding Seniors and Feeding Excellence. The organization provides healthy meals to those in need and nutrition education.

ElderHelp of San Diego received $5,000 to support its mission to provide personalized services and information to help seniors remain independent and in their own homes.

United Services Organization (USO) San Diego received a $2,500 grant. The USO operates more than 160 centers around the world to make life easier for active-duty military. USO San Diego sponsors a variety of programs such as Community Chest, which provides a supplementary resource of everyday essentials and fun non-essentials and Giving Tree, which provides military families the opportunity to select presents for their children and a mobile food pantry.
