Sundt Foundation Grants $11,575 to Four Nonprofits

SAN ANTONIO (April 11, 2017) – A $3,850 grant to Martinez Street Women’s Center will increase access to preventative health services and provide health education to women and girls in San Antonio.

The Sundt Foundation recently delivered a check to Martinez Street to support their Community Health Program, which provides clinical breast exams, health screenings, consultations with medical providers and pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables.

“We are so grateful to the Sundt Foundation for their support of our Community Health Program,” Director of Development Hannah Beck said. Their gift supports our mission of transforming communities through women and girls, and it ensures our team’s strength as we strive towards our goal of reaching 3,500 individuals this year with life-saving and life-changing information about their health.”

The Foundation also awarded grants to three other San Antonio-area nonprofits.

The Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas received a $1,925 grant to support its leadership development efforts through programs that teach life skills, outdoors education, entrepreneurship and civic engagement.

Service Dogs, Inc. received a grant for $3,850 to support the organization’s goals to rescue dogs from animal shelters, provide service dog training and connect the dogs to individuals with hearing loss or mobility challenges.

Transplants for Children was granted $1,950 to fund its programs to help transplant recipients and their families as they face emotional, financial and social challenges of the organ and tissue transplant process.
