SAN ANTONIO (August 15, 2019) – The Sundt Foundation awarded a total of $20,000 in grants to five area nonprofits during its third-quarter disbursements. 
“At Sundt, our purpose is to build environments where our clients, employee-owners and communities prosper, which is why it is important we invest in the San Antonio area,” said Terri Pasley, the Sundt Foundation’s San Antonio region board member “This quarter’s donations show our employee-owners’ belief in giving back to the community we live and work in.”
The Sundt Foundation awards grants each quarter to area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt employee-owners.
Third-quarter grants of $4,000 were equally divided between the following organizations:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas helps children who have a parent or other close family member who is incarcerated, on probation, or on parole. The organization places a positive adult role model in the child’s life and provides professional case management that empower youth to overcome obstacles.
Hill Country Family Services provides food for homeless and economically insecure families in Kendall County by operating as a free grocery-store-style food pantry. They offer donated food, as well as deeply discounted food from the San Antonio Food Bank.
Soldiers’ Angels provides aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and their families.
The MOSAIC Student Artist Program, part of Contemporary Art for San Antonio, is a tuition-free, year-round after-school program for area teens. Students are mentored and given professional art supplies to pursue studies in ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture.
Transformation House serves women and their children who have been made homeless due to domestic violence by offering transitional housing while they take the time needed to rebuild their lives.
