 |  Press Release

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Dec. 16, 2016) – A $2,500 grant from the Sundt Foundation will help feed hundreds of military families next year.

Food4Warriors, a program run by the Us for Warriors Foundation, or “Us4Warriors” of National City, hosts food drop-off events from January to October in four area towns: Chula Vista, Linda Vista, El Cajon and Oceanside. During November and December, the group organizes special events for the holidays supporting large families with food, gifts and more.

Us4Warriors was co-founded by Tony Stewart, a Navy veteran along with fellow submarine veterans, Ken Greenawald and New York Times best-selling author William Craig Reed. The organization is dedicated to helping veterans, active duty military and their families overcome hardships, connect them with communities and empower leadership.

“I remember how it was when I was a petty office and trying to support a family,” said Stewart. “Even after service, it can be tough. We help 100 to 200 families every time we host a Food4Warriors event.”
