FORT CAMPBELL, KY.  (Sept. 25, 2012) – Sundt Construction, Inc. has been awarded a $21.5 million contract to build two, three-story barracks for enlisted personnel at the Fort Campbell military installation in Kentucky.

Each 45,500-square-foot housing complex will contain 61 units with two bedrooms, one bathroom and a common kitchen. The living quarters will have features, standards and layouts similar to apartment complexes in the surrounding community.

Sundt is serving as the design-build general contractor for the project, which includes associated site improvements such as grading, utilities, parking and landscaping. Construction began in June 2012 and is scheduled to conclude in November 2013.

While Sundt has completed federal construction projects across the country on military installations in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and North Carolina, this is the company’s first project at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Fort Campbell, located on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line, is a 106,700-acre U.S. Army installation that is the home of the world’s only air assault division, the 101st Airborne Division.
