Sundt Construction Promotes Two Sacramento Team Members; Hires Intern

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (May 30, 2013) – The Sacramento office of Sundt Construction, Inc. recently promoted two team members to the positions of field superintendent and senior virtual construction engineer, and hired a new intern.

Jason Hughes was promoted from project engineer to field superintendent and is currently working on two higher education construction projects: San Jose State University Spartan Complex Seismic Upgrade and De Anza College Advanced Technology Center. Hughes, a LEED-accredited professional, has been with Sundt for five years assisting in managing, executing and tracking on-site project operations. He earned a Bachelor of Science in construction management from California State University, Chico.

Howard Atkinson was promoted from BIM modeler to senior virtual construction engineer overseeing all BIM needs in the state for business development, preconstruction and construction. Atkinson will travel to Sundt’s various California job sites to ensure BIM efforts are being properly utilized on all of the general contractor’s active projects, and will coordinate current modeler staff. Atkinson, who has been with Sundt for seven years, is a Revit architecture professional and holds a Bachelor of Science in construction management from California State University, Chico.

Sundt’s new intern is Nicholas Hansen, from California State University, Sacramento. Hansen will be based in Sundt’s Sacramento office, working on the UC Davis Tercero Phase III student housing project.
