 |  Press Release

COSTA MESA, Calif. (June 19, 2013) – Sundt Construction, Inc. was recently awarded a $36.7 million construction management services contract to build the first phase of an interdisciplinary complex at Orange Coast College. Construction of the new educational facility will begin in August 2013.

Collaborating with the Coast Community College District, architect LPA Inc. and specialty contractors, Sundt will provide the planning, procurement, construction and post-construction services on this project. The interdisciplinary complex will include faculty offices, lecture classrooms and computer laboratory spaces for business, math and computing. The 75,000-square-foot, three-story building will utilize multiple-prime construction delivery, a fast-tracking method in which each discipline is bid separately and awarded directly with the district.

“In the past five years, Sundt has completed or is in the process of building more than 20 public schools projects for the Division of the State Architect California valued at approximately $464 million, with most earning or pending LEED certification,” said John Messick, Sundt project director. “We are excited to bring our background and experience to the Orange Coast College campus, which is only seven miles from our new Irvine office.”

The new Orange Coast College Interdisciplinary Complex is Sundt’s first project with Coast Community College District. Completion is anticipated in August 2015.
