 |  Press Release

Sundt Construction, Inc. was awarded the contract to construct a replacement terminal building at Wichita Falls Municipal Airport, which shares a runway with Sheppard Air Force Base. Sundt, in partnership with Wichita Falls contractor Trinity Hughes, was selected among nine respondents to be the construction manager at risk.

The replacement terminal building will be built on an existing parking lot. The two-gate airport terminal will include passenger ticketing, baggage processing, restrooms, passenger screening, administrative offices, airside apron paving, passenger boarding bridges, a rental car facility and parking. Once complete, the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport replacement terminal building will handle American Eagle and a future carrier. Sundt/Trinity Hughes crews will start building the facility in the summer of 2013 with a 13 month construction schedule. The estimated cost is $25 million.

“We take great pride in being selected to work on this project and are eager to improve the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport for the Wichita Falls community,” Senior Vice President and Texas District Manager John Carlson said. “Sundt’s extensive aviation construction experience, high quality of work and portfolio of government projects on a national level paved the way for this win and we look forward to more opportunities to work with Trinity Hughes in the future.”
