Sundt Business Development Representative Robin Hunt.

California native Robin Hunt started her construction career working for a home builder while she was in high school. She went on to study construction management and has 30 years of experience in the industry, working as a Project Engineer, in estimating and in business development. She has been with Sundt for 11 years as a Business Development Representative in Northern California and works out of our Sacramento office.

What interested you about working for Sundt?

My first career at Sundt was in the ’90s, working on projects for the University of California, Davis, The Franchise Tax Board and Price Club before leaving to work for another company. Sundt’s history, project diversity and core values left an impression on me, so when I had the opportunity to come back 13 years later, I did not hesitate. We are truly a family of employee-owners committed to our industry.

What does a Business Development Representative do?

My focus is developing relationships with owners, architects and consultants to identify project opportunities throughout Northern California. I work with our Project Directors to develop winning strategies for pursuits and to identify potential design and consulting partners for upcoming projects. I also manage the Northern California sales database to ensure that we are on track to meet our goals.

How does the Northern California construction market look these days?

The market is very busy with many opportunities. Higher education, student housing, courts and K-12 are still strong markets for us. One market in which we have seen a lot of activity is senior housing; we recently won three projects and are working on several more for a long-time client. We don’t see it slowing down anytime soon and have identified more opportunities that align with our tactical plan.

What are your hobbies away from work?

I enjoy traveling, cycling, kayaking and painting. My husband and I have been on two bike tours and realized how much you miss in a car or plane. When you slow down and travel by bike, you don’t miss much!

Where are your favorite places to travel?

One of my favorite places is the South Tyrol region of Italy. The food, wine and mountains are amazing. I love the mountains, so Tahoe and Jackson Hole are also favorite spots.

Cat person or dog person?

Dog! Briley, our German Shorthair Pointer, is very spoiled.
