Sundt has been recognized many times for being a great place to work. Now, we have an award showing positive experiences with the company start before job-seekers are even hired.

Last month, we were named one of 50 recipients of the Candidate Experience (CandE) Awards given by the Talent Board, a nonprofit organization focused on the promotion and benchmark research of a quality candidate experience. Members of our Talent Acquisition team received the award, given annually since 2011, at a conference in Austin, Texas.

“We are thrilled to be part of an elite group recognized by the Talent Board,” said Sundt Director of Workforce Development Trevor Gelder. “Sundt’s approach to the candidate experience is leading the way in our industry and we couldn’t be more excited for the Sundt employee-owners and appreciative for the candidates who voted to place us in this elite group of organizations.”

The Talent Board accepts entries from North American-based employers. The CandE Awards and research involve three rounds of evaluations: an employer survey, candidate surveys and optional video recorded review of key practices or aspirations. More than 180,000 job candidates completed the survey.

Several internationally recognized companies made the CandE list, including American Airlines, AT&T, Delta Airlines, Facebook, General Electric, Lockheed Martin and T Mobile USA. We are the only general contractor on the list.

Judges also chose us and nine other finalists to receive the “Storytellers” award. Each 2016 Round 2 North American CandE participant was invited to share stories they believed made their recruiting process and candidate experience unique or interesting via a HireVue video interview. In the video, Sundt Talent Acquisition Specialist Mike Morales discussed our strong employee-ownership culture and the importance of having a team that is accountable for one another on jobsites and in the office.
