Sundt has long been committed to hiring military veterans and reservists at all levels of the organization. That practice earned our company the 2016 Military Friendly Employer designation by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazines.

Sundt competed for the Military Friendly Employer title by completing a survey driven by data independently tested by Ernst & Young based on weightings and methodology established by Victory Media and its advisory board. Criteria for the survey included a benchmark score across key programs and policies, including the strength of company military recruiting efforts, percentage of new hires with military service, retention programs for veterans and company policies on National Guard and Reserve service.

Our company has consistently demonstrated its commitment to hiring military talent by working to expand our active-duty, military spouse and veteran employee roster each year. We stay connected with the armed forces community through recruitment and training organizations, via our website and social media platforms.

“When we look to hire new employee-owners, we strive to find hard-working leaders who are self-motivated, ethical and disciplined,” said Trevor Gelder, Sundt’s Director of Talent Acquisition and Deployment. “Our experience shows that U.S. veterans not only embody these qualities, but fit well into our corporate culture, which encourages people to achieve excellence by going beyond the expected.”

Now in its 13th year, Military Friendly Employers is the premier resource for transitioning service members and spouses seeking civilian employment. Each year, companies taking the survey are held to a higher standard than the previous year via improved methodology, criteria and weightings developed with the assistance of an advisory board consisting of leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community.

We are featured in the December issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and the January 2016 issue of Military Spouse Magazine, as well as on MilitaryFriendly.com.

Our blog last week included an interview with Julie Pederson, one of our Marketing Proposal Specialists who is a US Air Force Reservist. We will continue featuring some of our many veterans and reservists on the blog this year as we celebrate the outstanding contributions made by the men and women of our military.
