Sundt’s sixth annual Thirst Aid bottled water drive was another big success! On June 5 a semi-truck delivered thousands of bottles of water – more than in any previous year – to St. Joseph the Worker, a Human Service Campus Agency in Phoenix, Arizona. St. Joseph the Worker is a nonprofit organization that aids homeless and other disadvantaged individuals throughout the Phoenix area.

“On behalf of everyone at St. Joseph the Worker, I share our heartfelt thanks to Sundt and its subcontractors and suppliers,” said Candace Sherwood, the organization’s executive director. “This year’s Thirst Aid campaign topped all records, allowing us to share bottled water with over 15 other homeless providers. With summer temperatures in triple digits and the increased number of homeless individuals being served, the efforts of everyone at Sundt to collect and deliver nearly 250,000 bottles of water is truly life-saving.”

Many homeless and disadvantaged people suffer from thirst, heat-related illness and even death when temperatures soar in the summer months. As a response, Sundt organized the first Thirst Aid event in 2010 with the hope of collecting 120 cases of water (2,880 bottles). That goal was crushed by the collection of nearly 50,000 bottles, and each year the number continues to increase.
