Amanda comes to Sundt with more than five years of management experience. In her role, she oversees payroll for the California State University, East Bay Warren Hall project in Hayward, and the Kings County Courthouse project in Hanford, California. We recently asked her a few questions to get to know her better.

What brought you to Sundt?
I had been looking for a new career for a while – one where I could learn new skills and thrive. When I learned about the opportunity with Sundt I jumped at the chance to work for such a wonderful and established company.

What’s a typical work day like for you?
I am currently learning Certified Payroll. I check subcontractors for compliance. I am constantly learning new things and regulations.

What would you be doing if you weren’t working in construction?
Before I started working for Sundt I was a supervisor for a retail store. If I didn’t have this new career path I would be searching for anything to get me out of retail. I am very pleased that I have this opportunity.

Favorite type of cuisine?
Italian

Best book you read (or movie you saw) recently?
I just finished the Divergent series. It was very good. My favorite book series is “The Mark of The Lion” series.

Coolest app you’ve been using lately?
I’m not a huge tech person. So, my favorite app is Shazam. Not very new but one of my favorites.

Favorite sport, either to play or to watch?
I love to watch football. Go Raiders!

Favorite quote or inspirational saying?
My mom always tells me that if something doesn’t work out it just means that something better is waiting for you.

How do you like to spend your free time?
Visiting with friends and family or relaxing at home with my two puppies, George and Raider.
