Sundt employees donated approximately 1,300 hours to charitable causes last year. That number is likely to increase in 2014, thanks to the new members who joined as a result of the membership drive.

The hundreds of nonprofit organizations that look to the Sundt Foundation for support have good reason to celebrate: 75 employees signed up to become new members during a recent membership drive. They join the hundreds of Sundt employees who are already members, donating money to the Foundation through weekly contributions.

In addition, 72 members elected to increase their contributions to the Foundation during the membership drive, resulting in an additional $25,000 that will be distributed to nonprofit organizations as quarterly grants. Grant money comes primarily from contributions made by Sundt employees, which are matched dollar-for-dollar by the company. The Sundt Foundation gave more than $588,000 in grants in 2013 alone.

“These results are nothing short of spectacular,” said Dan Haag, Sundt’s Chief Administration Officer and Executive Director of the Sundt Foundation. “They speak for themselves about how our people continue to step up and help make a positive difference in our communities.”

The Sundt Foundation was established in 1999 by Sundt Construction, Inc., as a way for its employee-owners to give back to the communities in which they work. In addition to funding grants every quarter, the Foundation also sponsors volunteer activities to benefit nonprofit organizations.

Since its inception the Foundation has made grants totaling nearly $6 million to hundreds of worthy organizations. Approximately 75 percent of the money goes to help disadvantaged children, with the remaining 25 percent dedicated to community issues. Employees can also earmark their donations for charitable organizations that benefit members of the military and their families.
