Heavy Civil Division. No construction project is taken lightly.
Infrastructure construction projects like highways, streets, bridges, underground
utilities and drainage facilities are some of the most difficult to coordinate and
build. But thanks to the progressive and innovative management by Sundt’s Heavy
Civil Division, even the most challenging civil construction project can be a success.
One telling example is the recently completed $63.5 million Ironwood-Gantzel Multi-Phased
Roadway Improvement Project in Pinal County, Arizona. This 30-month project, built
by Sundt, involved reconstructing 15 miles of an existing two-lane roadway to four-
and six-lanes, more than doubling its traffic capacity. By utilizing the alternate
delivery method Construction Manager at Risk, we were able to complete the roadway
significantly ahead of schedule and under budget.
This kind of experience, combined with our expertise in all contracting methods, means we can make your civil construction project work, no matter the constraints. Specific
experience in the transportation sector includes construction of highways, bridges,
streets and airfield facilities. The Division also constructs dams, drainage facilities
and pumping stations, and it offers extensive underground experience on civil construction
projects such as water transmission and distribution lines, large fiber-optic communication
installations, large and small sanitary sewer systems, as well as other underground
utilities.
We serve the needs of both public and private sector clients throughout the Pacific
and Southwestern regions of the country and work on projects ranging in size from
$50,000 to $200 million. And because Sundt is 100% employee-owned, every person
working on your project is committed to achieving the highest quality of work and
safety standards.
