Sundt's history of building in and around Sacramento began in the 1970s when it constructed several projects with local joint venture partners. The company established a regional office in Sacramento during the 1990s and expanded its presence shortly thereafter through the acquisition of Earl Construction, a well known local contractor. The company built a variety of institutional, residential and commercial projects over the years. Some recent projects of note in the area include the University of California, Davis Graduate School of Management and Conference Center, the Richard E. Arnason Justice Center in Pittsburg, the Valley Hi North Laguna Library in Sacramento and Riverbend Elementary in Yuba City.
The American River runs through the heart of Sacramento and provides outdoor enthusiasts with plenty of action, notably hiking and mountain biking in the rugged hills nearby.
